August is Almost Over..............

Sad but true, one more week to go. JP and my anniversary is on the 27th............yep...........36 years married and 2 years living together. 38 years of knowing each other. We have been through lots of ups and downs, smooth roads and bumpy roads and they still continue, except we have grown older and I hope wiser. We shall go out to eat, I hope, nothing else special happening. We were never much for big parties and such, like some people. Oh well, everyone is different.

Next month JP collects social security............gosh we are getting old, never thought we would make it this far. Will have to see about taking a picture of us together.

Been going to Inches A Weigh for 6 weeks and have lost 8lbs and 20 inches............YAY!!!!!!!!! IAW has been my focus for now and probably will be till I have lost 50lbs and can be the biggest loser in this household.

Has been a very busy Spring for me. Went to a wedding in Chicago Memorial Day weekend. Sooo spent a month getting ready for that, had to rent a car, put the dogs in a kennel, buy JP and myself an outfit, etc. It was a nice trip, sure glad we don't live in Ill. Cars, cars everywhere, high energy everywhere..............whew was sure glad to get back to Appleton. Been working out in my gardens and trying to get stuff planted, lots of ideas and little money. Still working at merchandising my jobs, it pays some bills and gets me out and about. Making cards and selling on Etsy. Paying bills. Cleaning house. Etc, etc, etc. My little world is very busy and trying to balance everything is a challange.

Well you all have a good day, I am going to close this little blog for now. Time to get ready for IAW, have an appointment at 1:00pm, 40 minutes of strategic exercise then run on the treadmill and ride the bike for 20-30 minutes. That might burn about 100+ calories.

"Spirelli" What a fun technique! Here's one of my newest cards. A friendly little "hello" with a "spirelli" punch. I would like to get a few more punches. This sure is a great looking card, probably could use it for any kind of card, birthday's, anniversaries, thinking of you, whatever your heart's desire.

I asked a friend if I could borrow a few of her punches, then I shall add a few more spirelli cards to my collection. You would need a punch that makes deep grooves so the thread or yarn won't slip and you work around the wheel going through one slot and on to 4th, 5th, or 6th and coming back to the empty slot and going to the next slot. sort of hard to explain, but easy to do once you understand the technique.

♥A Little of This and That♥

I was very busy merchandising yesterday, did a complete reset of books and coloring books etc. JP helped me, no way could I have done this all myself. We had to take down the old books and shelves and put up new racks, signage, and price labels. Then place the new books up on the racks. As it stood, I started at 10:30am and did not finish the job till 9:00pm. By the end of the day every muscle and bone in my old body ached. I did have two other jobs to do in the store, audit cleaning products and stock greeting cards, straighten and order new ones. I would be happy if I could have a couple more of those jobs. Not so strenuous. Greeting cards I can handle.

Well, today JP and I went to Golden Coral for dinner. Dangerous, I go with good intentions not to over eat, but it gets the best of me. Steak was delicious, with cheesy fries, broccoli, bread and salad.....................I should have stopped there, but no, had to have a few other things, shrimp, tuna, crackers, ice cream, peach cobbler, cheese bread. I am stuffed now, it is no wonder I am over weight. Guess that is one thing we like to do...................is eat.

I told JP what we spent tonight $25 could buy food for 3-4 days at Save a Lot. Oh well, we so very seldom go out and do something. JP said we could splurge alittle once in a while.

I watched a good movie today from Netflex. It is called "Australia"...........gosh that is beautiful country. Why in the world would people from Australia leave to come here. But anyways, good story and Hugh Jackman is such a handsome dude and truly he is sexy. Good story line, at times hard to follow, but maybe it is one of those moves that has to be watched a couple of times. Nicole Kidman was good too. Try and watch it. Very good. Another good movie to watch is "The Greatest Game Ever Played" with Shia LeBouef. A true story about Francis Ouimet Amature golfer in 1913 who played against the greatest golfer of all time, Harry Varnon played by Stephen Dillane. Really neat story, and one that can be watched and you never grow tired of it. I finally bought a copy of my own, and can watch it anytime. But of course, Shia played a great game of golf and he is easy to watch.

Hip, hip, hooray..........I sold a card on my etsy store...........gosh that made my day. A lovely snowflake card. This week I have to get some easter and mother's day cards up in my store. I want to make and Easter egg iris folding card, will work on that this week, hopefully. I shouldn't be to crazy busy this week, so I should find some time.

♥mmmmmmm.......Nothing New♥

Yep, same old, same old..........nothing new.

Am so looking forward to Spring, well at least Daylight Savings started today, snowed quite a bit today, again, so looking forward to Spring.

Been making some cards and earrings........here's a pair that I already have in my Etsy store. These earrings are my favorite, they will go with anything I wear, which I seem to wear alot of black.........so no clashes of color here. Oh, I have to tell you.....I have started a diet, it shouldn't be too hard, all I am going to do is change the oils I use. Coconut oil, MCT oil and butter, oh and avacado oil. So far I have lost 1 1/2 lbs. I ran into a woman that weighed 300 lbs 10 years ago, she is down to 188 today. She changed the oils she consummed and one of them is coconut oil. Coconut oil is digestable where vegetable oil isn't. She has been using coconut oil for 3 years and has noticed quite a few things since using the oil. Her skin is very soft looking and her belly is flat!! Now this is what I desire to see happen. It seems the oils we use settle in our belly. I don't know all the technical words and terms, but it all makes sense to me. So I shall try it, if I can lose 20-30lbs, I would be happy with that kind of weight loss. I get so motivated watching the Biggest Loser, and have so many plans to lose...........but alas it just stays in my head. Well, today 1 1/2 lbs came off.....................will see what happens tomorrow, we had popcorn tonight, made the old fashioned way, with coconut oil!!!!

♥Nothing New Under The Sun♥

Now that sounds like a good title.........for whatever reason that came to me. Truely there is nothing new under the sun...........God has seen it all. Things and places and people might come in different sizes, shapes, labels, coverings, colors, brands, catch words, phrases, etc. But, nothing is new under the sun.

Looking back on history, satan is always standing at the door ready to take over...............BUT, GOD............has been there to turn him away, where did satan get the brainy idea he could be like GOD and take over this universe????.......honestly, there is nothing new under the Sun. Well, I don't know where I am going with this..........just rambling on. When I look at current events and see the things taking place I have to just sit back in astonishment....the stage has/is being set throughout history to this very day...........for the great takeover of satan and his regeim.............but how can that be, cause GOD will have the last laugh.....hooray, I am so glad that the outcome will for GODS GLORY!!!! Man can do all he wants to take over, BUT, GOD will show his power and glory in the end.

So this is my confidence in knowing, that in the end it's not what you know, but WHO you know and I prefer to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and to know I am going to heaven. What better insurance than that, and it is FREE, not going to be taken out of your paycheck, or will the price go up because of inflation or go down because of recession. Nope, good for a life time and into eternity. Aflak can't even do as well as that.

Well I guess I better get off that subject............I made some new cards and earrings for St. Patrick's Day March 17th. Following is a sampling. Wow, that took a long time to get the picture on this blog. Well, here goes another one. Do you know how long that took to put the orange card up...............good grief........I started at 1:09 and it is now 1:27............18 minutes to put up one picture.........I guess I will not do another one for now.................takes tooooooooooo long!

I will close this blog for the day, as I have to start organizing my taxes so I can take them in next week. Hopefully we will get some money back, we pay enough taxes out, something should come back. You all have a good day and enjoy the weather............should be getting better...........Spring is right around the corner.

WOW.......Featured on Treasury West!!!

Okay, it has been awhile since I last posted in this blog........sorry! I tend to gravitate to http://www.cards4ubylouise.blogspot.com/ more than I do to this blog for some reason. Been very busy this past month, working, making cards, making cookies, decorating, keeping warm, etc, etc. Oh well, such is life in the big city and little hamlets.

Hey, for the first time ever, I was featured on 'Treasury West' I sure was surprised. Well, here is the shot of the treasury. There, top row, left side of the treasury, is my card.

Just now showing off the treasury. Just a little slow. Kinda bummed out that my Christmas cards did not sell via my Etsy store. But did sell some Christmas cards to a trucker friend of my husbands. Now I should be able to get my CUTTLEBUG, and make some new kinds, which should be fun.

What else is going on....mmmmm...lets see???? Been pretty busy working my merchandising job. For a part time job they sure keep me busy staying in Appleton, which is very fine with me....when the gas prices were up to $4 it sure was tuff to keep the tank even 1/2 full and when I am criss-crossing across the town of Appleton and into Kaukauna, makes for an expensive job. We still owe $1200 on this car for work done by the service station.........yikes and the car still has a few other flaws........hope it lasts till Jesus returns.

Anyways, gas prices have been pretty good, sitting at $1.71 as of yesterday. Wondering what will happen when Obama takes office where the gas prices will go?????? I am not a Democrat and did not vote for Obama, soooooo we will see where this world goes. I know one thing, when King Jesus comes back to rule this world, things will be just as it should be. PERFECT!!

January begins my Social Security............YAY, RAH, RAH, can hardly wait!!! WE are going out for a steak dinner......what a relief! I do plan on keeping on working as a merchandiser, that will keep me active, and if I could sell some more cards every now and then that would be great too!

Well, I am going to wrap this post up for now, if I don't get back before the new year.......Have a wonderful Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year......2009......WOW! Who would have thought we would make it this far before the return of Jesus........well keep your eyes towards the east cause you just might see his soon return!

Winter, Summer, Spring and Fall

This was winter 2007-08. My beautiful rose bushes are under all that snow. We have lived in the house since 1991 and never saw the snow this high................................................yuke!!!!! I thought winter would never end. But it did, and we had a wonderful Spring and Summer. It wasn't till August and September we bagan to enjoy our porch and actually eat out there. I will be looking forward to the signs of spring 2009 and eating out "on our porch".

Gosh, I am going to miss summer and my beautiful flowers.........I am just hoping the winter is not as bad as it was winter 2007-08 (see above picture). We were raking leaves today and putting up alot of the leaves for mulch. Whew a lot of work for two 60+ people......lol

5th Treasury

Okay........here is my 5th treasury..........Sunrise and Sunsets...........hold on, I am going to try something..........going to copy and paste from my other blog the things I said. Here goes.............

Here is my newest treasury that I got last Sunday, late, very late (1am) in the evening (morning). I love sunsets and sunrises. There is such a sence of peacefulness in the colors brushed across the sky. Then to think how big and how hot that sun is, that we are not scorched and burned alive. The One who created this universe sure did a GOOD JOB.........it's hard to believe in the big bang theory!

I love fall also, the crispness of the mornings, the trees turning their beautiful colors.......every color you can possibly think of is used. How could one not believe there is a God who created this World? I would rather believe there is a God, then not believe there is a God........there is safty in believing and knowing that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and of this world and the world to come. And it was all done at the Cross and through the blood of Jesus, once and for all.......whosoever will, will never die.

cRaFt SaLe ToDaY!!!

Welp, today was my very first craft sale..........there were over 300 vendors displaying their wares. We were wedged between a soy candle lady and two jewelry ladies and both travel the circuit going to craft fairs across the state. Not sure that is something I would like to do, don't know, have to think about this for awhile.

Being it was my first sale, I guess it was apprapoe to only sell ONE card at $2.50, a pansy card. Oh well, least I sold one card. It was a lovely day in the morning and as the day got older, it got colder and the sun disappeared. Glad the day is over, guess I was really tired, cause I sat down on the recliner at 4 and slept till about 9 or so, now I am wide awake and raring to go. NOOOOO don't feel like making any cards for awhile, but I do have an order for Christmas cards, so I think I shall start working on them now till Christmas, don't want to be doing them at the last minute. All people are going to get this year are a Christmas card and a packet of cards..............easy gifts to give!!!!

TiMe Is GeTtInG aWaY fRoM Me.................Or How fast the time flies!!!

YES.......the time is flying by, here it is September already..............where has this year gone to?????? When we are young we can hardley wait to get older and when we are old we wish we were young again. Never happy are we. My mom would say............"don't wish your life away it will go fast enough" I never understood what she meant when I was young, but now I do. Oh Well, like the bible says, we are just a vapor.........smoke blowing into nothingness. Here today, gone tomorrow.

Alot has happened these last couple of months.................working, gardening, eating, sleeping, making cards and jewelery, the olympics, the Democratic and Republican conventions...........I kept up more with the GOP then I did the DEMs..............I don't really care for Obama and what he stands for..............I do believe I will vote for McCain and Palin. It is the only way for me to go and feel like my vote counted. I have a grave feeling that if Obama gets in as Pres. we are in for a heap of trouble and life as it is will never be the same.

Well I think I will close this blog for tonight, as it is 1:20 am that seems to be the normal time I crash, my body is saying............sleepy time!!!! Before I close let me add a beautiful picture of my roses from the garden.

LeArNiNg......lEaRnInG......=LEARNING

Well, I am learning, there is always something new to learn, learning is what we are here for, it is said that once you think you know it all, what else is there to do but die. Well, I am not ready to die yet so I guess I just will keep on'a learning.

Here's what I learned tonight........................>
Yep, I learned how to take a picture of my store then put it in "paint" then fiddled around and cut and pasted and wala here is what I got. These are the directions I used........Click ctrl and print scree button, then open paint, then click ctrl and V (view) then save as (jpeg). To get just the pictures I cut then pasted, back into paint and renamed again in jpeg..........will have to try it again to see if it works then write it down................ramble, ramble, ramble.

My first two cards are new to the store, "I love Paris" although I have never been there and my "Dried Pansies" happy Birthday cards. I have been really happy with my store, and it's been fun, I would like to see more things sold, not sure what the hold up is. Prices are right in line with most other card stores, guess the right person has not come along yet.

I am going to start selling some of my stamps, a few here and and a few there.......maybe they will be a hot item. Two stamps for the price of one, most of my stamps will be 1/2 price, and there is very little use and they are still in good shape.

Will be adding a few more earrings and a few bracelets, possibly as sets...........lol.........that's if I make them and not want to wear them. I really admire so many of the Etsy jewelery artists, they make such beautiful jewelery PLUS they are able to sell 100's of pieces.........that's the trick you know, to keep your stuff before the customer........using eye catching photography, bright colors, yep...........

MY NEWEST TREASURY................

Ok.......this will be quick...............I just put up a new treasury last night 12:30am on 7/12/08. I am thinking this may be my last one for awhile as I have done 3 treasuries and do not see any sales from it, although it is fun, it seems to create alot of busy work that I don't really need. I just wish a few more of my cards would sell. Oh Well!! I have forgotten how it feels to see a card sold and the number change and then get feedback. This is an update on the first treasury...........I never got a picture of it so it is lost in Etsy land....(sigh). So there is no way to check it on Etsy. Oh well, that is life.....sometimes it just plain sucks.

Well, I found out it will cost more money to get my treasury on this blog............guess I will do it this way.......just press the link and it will take you directly to my treasury at Etsy, then press the arrow to return back here. I convoed all the artists to let them know they were in my treasury........they were happy to know........as you can see I am very happy to have gotten a chance to do a treasury.

I am working at getting another set of cards and earrings in my Etsy store.............this newest set will be in yellow and golds, I am thinking of calling the set "Sunflower Surprize" or something like that........here's a picture of my latest earrings and cards. I called them Blue Lighthouse cards and Blue Lighthouse Earrings. Not a very catchy title......but hey, the are a set. This is my new set of "Thank You" cards, 4 cards in all for $11 (that would be 2.75 a piece, still cheaper then the store, well, if you go to Dollar General you can get 2 cards for $1, BUT they are not homemade). Two fishies and two butterflies placed on tags. I had fun making these, could let my creative juices flow.

A New Pair of Earrings

This looks better, you get the idea......I made a pair for myself, seem to wear these all the time, they go with everything I wear. Both the black and pink toppers and bottom beads are glass with a metal bead in the middle. Very simple but elegant. I am selling them on my etsy store for $6.50 and $1.50 postage ($8 total). Mother's Day

Well today was Mother's Day. I am a mother, but not really. Gave my baby up for adoption in 1969...........39 years ago???????? So I am a "birth mother" My how time has flown.... I found Tiffany over the internet.....it's a long story but we do communicate via IM messaging once a week or so. We haven't met face to face, probably the only reason being "distance and money" She lives in North Carolina, I live in Wisconsin. Plus maybe we are both shy. I know I am.......we've talked a couple of times on the phone, she has sent lots of pictures of her, and the two boys, Dalton and Devan. So I guess we have a good relationship, just the way it is. If we are meant to meet, it will happen.

Today was nice, got a pretty pink rose and a chocolate hearshy bar at church.......mmmmmm almost gone. Mother's Days in the past have been depressing, but since I found Tiffany they have been bearable to live through. I always hated when the mothers were acknowledged at church, I was always told to stand, (I wanted to hide) but, I would stand just to appease people. When Mother's Day would draw closer, I just wanted to hide......hated Mother's Day.

Yesterday JP and I went on a splurge, bought some lattice for morning glories to climb up and some flowers oh and some Italian basil and chocolate mint....mmmmmm smells so good. We even ate out, I had chicken and JP had a pork chop, we had a coupon $2 off so that helped, then the $2 became the waitresses tip. Quick in and out money, she gave it to us and we gave it back. :)

Well then we came home and planted some flowers and put up the lattice, hopefully the morning glories will grow up the lattice. Last year I trained the morning glories to grow up string............looked nice but not very professional. Here's a picture.

I will have to take a picture of the lattice, looks actually nice, hopefully it will add a little bit of "curb appeal" to the house. JP has really gotten into the "flower thing" and wants to plant flowers all over the place. Should look nice around here after awhile. I can hardly wait.

Here's another picture of Morning Glory, they sure looked pretty last summer. I started some "Passion Flowers" a few weeks ago, but they did not germanate. Gosh I spent $2.29 for that package and there were only 5 seeds.......good grief!!!! Too late to take the seeds back to the store. So I guess blue and white morning glories will be growing this summer. They are old seeds, so hopefully they will grow.

I guess I will close this blog for now............maybe add a few more pictures of some earrings I made, I think this blog is for earrings, I did put some earrings up in the other blog. Most likely I will get confused and put cards and earring on this one or the other......oh well what ever works. Have a good day.

Blog Number 2

This is my second blog of which is (I hope) more colorful. As for blog number 1, I will still use it, in what fashion I am not sure. Maybe this one will be for earrings and that one for cards, or visa versa. For now, I am still experimenting.............so lets just have some fun and see what comes up.

To your right is one of my fashioned earrings, just plan glass beads from Wal-mart. So the price is not high, $7. I have not gotten into the Sworovski crystal as yet.............when I do the price will sky-rocket.........lol

For now I am just having fun making earrings and shopping around to see what I can find and what looks pretty. One problem I have run into though is that I have to make two pairs at a time, one to sell and one to wear on my ears of course...........so this may not be a big money maker, hopfully the cards will "take off and fly away" one at a time or in sets of 8 (2 birthday, 2 sympathy, 2 get well, 2 blank), this is my plan in the next couple of weeks. See how it goes.

Well I think I will close this blog for today as it is 5:17pm and I really did not do all that I wanted to accomplish today.........ha, the dishes are still in the sink and the kitchen is a mess!!!!
